Last reviewed October 29, 2026

Quick answerBoth entry plans cost $348 for a year paid up front. SmartScout adds brand data on Essentials and seller data on Business; Jungle Scout suits private label sellers who track products and keywords.

SmartScout vs Jungle Scout: the short answer

SmartScout Basic and Jungle Scout Starter both come to $348 for a year, as read on October 29, 2026. SmartScout charges it at checkout on its Yearly view, which shows $29 a month, and Jungle Scout shows $348 annually on its Pay annually view, which also shows $29 a month.

The choice rests on where each starts. SmartScout starts from brands, sellers and subcategories: Basic opens product-level data, brand data begins on Essentials, and seller and subcategory data on Business. Jungle Scout Catalyst starts from products and keywords, through Product Database, Opportunity Finder, Product Tracker and Category Trends.

Catalyst is Jungle Scout's plan family for sellers up to about $1 million in Amazon revenue a year. Cobalt, for multi-brand owners and agencies, is sold by demo with no price shown.

Extra seats and who each plan is for

Each of SmartScout's three priced plans includes one user, and the Terms assign each account to one individual. An extra user costs $49, and SmartScout's plan grid does not say whether that is monthly. Jungle Scout charges $49 a month per seat, or $459 a year per seat on an annual plan, and Starter is not eligible for extra seats.

Jungle Scout's pages disagree on whether Brand Owner includes 3 or 10 users, so confirm in its checkout.

Jungle Scout Starter allows 100 Product Database searches and 100 Opportunity Finder searches a month and tracks 50 products. Growth Accelerator removes the search caps and tracks 150. Competitive intelligence is on Brand Owner only. On SmartScout, a brand owner or agency watching competing brands needs Essentials, and one watching sellers or subcategory share needs Business.

Is Jungle Scout worth it over SmartScout?

Jungle Scout is worth it over SmartScout Basic when the job is tracking products and keywords, which is what Catalyst is built around, and the entry plans cost the same $348 for the year. SmartScout Basic opens product data, search terms and the Sales Estimator, but its brand data, the Brands Database and Brand Dashboards, starts on Essentials at $99 a month on the Yearly view.

Take a first-time private label seller checking one product idea against search demand, competing brands and estimated monthly sales before ordering a first batch of inventory. Jungle Scout Starter's Opportunity Finder filters niches by units sold, monthly search volume, Niche Score (a 1 to 10 grade, where 10 is the highest opportunity) and competition, and those are estimates. For competing brands, SmartScout means Essentials at $1,188 for the year on its Yearly view, not Basic at $348.

Helium 10 Platinum, $99 a month on its Pay yearly view for sellers with $0 to $100K in yearly sales, is the third plan to weigh; Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout sets Helium 10 and Jungle Scout against each other.

Neither SmartScout nor Jungle Scout has a free trial, and each gives new customers a 7-day money-back guarantee on its standard plans. Pick Jungle Scout for product and keyword research at the same entry price, and SmartScout when the shortlist starts from brands. Jungle Scout alternatives lists other options, and SmartScout pricing has every SmartScout plan.
