How to find brands to wholesale on Amazon FBA using brand filters

Last reviewed October 29, 2026

Quick answerLook for brands that Amazon rarely sells itself and where no single seller holds most of the revenue, then check the sellers on each listing. A brand database with those filters saves opening listings one by one.

Find brands to wholesale: the filters that matter

To find brands to wholesale on Amazon FBA, filter brands by estimated monthly revenue, how many FBA sellers carry them, how often Amazon itself sells them and whether one seller holds most of the revenue, then check who sells each listing.

The manual route costs nothing: browse Amazon's Best Sellers by category, note the brands on listings you could stock and open each one. SmartScout's brand list page describes filters for a faster pass: set Amazon In Stock Rate (how often Amazon itself has the item) low to see brands Amazon rarely sells, set the average number of FBA sellers low, and remove dominant sellers, those holding more than 50 percent of a brand's revenue.

Brand Score is SmartScout's own score of how much content a brand's pages carry. Its pages set the dominant seller line at 50 percent of a brand's revenue on some pages and 60 percent on another, so check the setting in the tool. Its rules of thumb, such as 2 to 8 FBA sellers often pointing to an open wholesale policy, are its own opinion, not an Amazon rule.

Check who sells each brand on Amazon

Open a brand's listings and read the other sellers. Amazon shows one Featured Offer and lets customers open other sellers' offers from the Other sellers on Amazon widget.

SmartScout's Brand Sellers, from Essentials, lists the sellers under a brand in one place, and Product Sellers, from Business, lists every seller of one product with its history on that listing. The best Amazon brand research tools compares the brand-level options.

Read a brand's listings before you contact it

Product Details and Product History, on every SmartScout plan, show a listing's prices, reviews, offers and sales rank over time. SmartScout also scores each listing's title, images, bullets and A+ content, and that score is SmartScout's own, not Amazon data. Revenue figures are modeled estimates.

Amazon's wholesale guide, read on October 29, 2026, says branded products should come from the brand or one of its direct distributors, and it tells sellers to review the supplier's business license and brand authorization letter. Its invoice checklist asks for a date within the last 180 days and a combined purchase of at least 10 units.

Some products and categories need Amazon's approval before sale, and the approval is Amazon's decision. In Seller Central, choose Catalog, then Add Products, search the product and look for Show limitations; Apply to Sell starts the approval process.

Scan the supplier price list once you have one

SmartScout's UPC Scanner takes three columns from a price list, UPC, Selling Price and Product Cost, then sorts by Net Profit, Net Margins or ROI after FBA, storage and Amazon referral fees. Per the plan grid, the cap is 5,000 ASINs on Basic, 50,000 on Essentials, 100,000 on Business and 200,000 on Enterprise.

Tools that build the wholesale brand list for you

SmartScout's Essentials plan, $99 a month on the Yearly view (paid as $1,188 for the year) or $119 a month on the Monthly view, as read on October 29, 2026, opens the Brands Database with filters such as Amazon In Stock Rate and Dominant Sellers. SmartScout wholesale maps each wholesale step to a plan, and the 7-day money-back guarantee covers Essentials for a new customer, once per customer.

An online arbitrage seller who already holds a supplier price list can skip the brand search. Tactical Arbitrage analyzes an uploaded wholesale manifest and sits inside Threecolts Seller 365, where Standard is $69 a month on Monthly; SellerAmp SAS checks one product at a time from $19.95 per month on monthly billing. The best tools for Amazon wholesale compares them.

A seller with two or three brands already in mind needs no brand database; the manual route and a supplier price list are enough. A seller building a list across a subcategory should move to a tool.
